The Next Step in Manual Therapy Mastery

Jeffrey Burch’s first book, Assessment and Treatment Methods for Manual Therapists: The Most Effective and Efficient Treatment Every Time, gave practitioners a rigorous, palpation-based framework for knowing where to work and what to do when they get there. It became an essential resource for bodyworkers, physical therapists, structural integrators, osteopaths, and massage therapists who wanted to move beyond recipe-driven practice.
His second book, Joints, Bursas and Tendons, provides a groundbreaking new application utilizing the assessment and treatment methods detailed in the first book.

About the Book

This forthcoming volume is a deep dive into the practical application of manual therapy methods — anatomy-rich, precise, and grounded in decades of clinical experience. Where the first book established the principles of assessment and treatment, this book puts those principles into the practitioner’s hands — literally. Practitioners will find detailed guidance on how to apply treatments with accuracy and confidence, supported by thorough anatomical context that illuminates not just the what but the why behind every technique.

Joints Bursas and Tendons: Explore working with all types of synovial membranes to assess for and map adhesions and densifications to a fine scale, and easily release those fibroses with precise gentle manual therapy.

Whether you are a seasoned clinician looking to refine your work or an advanced student building your clinical foundation, this book is designed to expand what your hands can do. This book details an important new arena of manual therapy not available anywhere else.
